Learn about beliefs and practices at the heart of the vast tradition of Buddhism in a showing of David Grubin’s documentary, The Buddha. The film centers on traditional stories of the life and quest of Siddhartha Gotama, who became known as the Buddha. The film uses animated storytelling and traditional artwork, supplemented by reflections offered by poets, philosophers, psychologists, and practicing Buddhists representing a variety of personal and cultural backgrounds. Following the film, an ordained Zen priest and UR Buddhist campus minister Kevin Heffernan will facilitate a discussion. Refreshments will be provided at this free event.
